// 2000 - 2008 August, 21 - 2008
It’s a shame that such a good maxim is taken and commercialized by Nelly Furtado but yeah all good things come to an end and today we decided to stop our activities as a band. We had a blast in these eight years, we have played each and every shitty venue in Turkey, made some amazing friends, rolled in dirt and mud. However, as of this summer we came to a point where we can’t agree on how our music should sound like and unfortunately we have to use another cliche to explain the situation: Nettlethrone broke up as a result of musical differences. There is not a tragic level of the situation, we didn’t throw bricks to each others’ faces, we’re still really good friends. In fact, this farewell does not mean that you’ll be able to get rid of us cause we’ll keep playing in other shitty bands. Burak and Mustafa will continue with their recently formed old school death metal trio Burial Invocation (with Cenotaph guitarist Cihan Akün) and they’re going to release their first demo of putrid reeking 90s worship death metal incantation very soon. Tankut will eventually find time to focus on his modern metal band Mental Implant and Kaya will most likely team up with Burak for thousands of other projects (when it comes to untamed, unlistenable grindcore they’re the real deal!). We’d like to thank our brothers in Dreamtone and Decaying Purity for their endless and sincere support. We also want to extend our gratitude to our good fellows in Suicide, Self Torture, Cenotaph, Sakatat, Carnophage, Raven Woods, Burst Appeal, Dead Wish, Lifelock, Bleed Myself Tonight, Colostomy, Ghostwall Records, Midas’ın Kulaklığı Studios and Ankara extreme metal scene for their support throughout these years. “Dissonant Progression” is still available in our webstore, so if you haven’t got a copy yet, this is your last chance to have it. We'll also play a final gig in Ankara with Carnophage. Date and venue details will be disclosed in near future so check out this page to not miss your last opportunity to see us on stage.

// ALBUM ARTWORK Nov, 28 - 2007
By clicking here you'll see the cover art of our upcoming album "Dissonant Progression". This fine piece of art is created by Justin Bartlett and it only represents a small scale of what the whole package looks like, unfortunately you'll have to wait for the album to see the grand design. We're mighty happy with the work Justin did for us and we encourage you to visit his portfolio if you want to enjoy some bizarre and exceptional art.
// LINE-UP CHANGE 0ct, 26 - 2007
This is probably the worst thing that can happen to a band but after numerous occasions seems like we got used to it. Yes, unfortunately we had to part our ways with our original vocalist Nazmi Can. The decision was mutual and it doesn't contain any drama, just blame the conflicting schedules and personal life issues. There's no bad blood between us, in fact Nazmi Can is going to handle the mic one last time on our next gig. On the other hand luckily we have found a suitable replacement and from now on Mustafa Yildiz from Inner Divine will devour his throat for Nettlethrone.
// ALBUM UPDATE 0ct, 26 - 2007
As you may know we were about the release our debut album "Dissonant Progression" via Poland's Empire Records, however some peculiar things must have happened on the other side of Europe because we lost the contact with Empire Records. They stopped replying our mails and denied our correspondence attempts and after like 3 months we gave up trying. Also Jacek Wisniewski informed us that he is going to involve in other projects and he is not going to design artworks anymore, so yes he's not going to make our artwork too. If you think these blows are enough to make us quit the whole music industry, think again. We decided to start up a small scale label to release the album by ourselves and with the assistance from our mates in Kardanadam Media, we established Ghostwall Records. Right now we're going through the legal procedure and we're planning to release the album this December. The artwork design will be created by the almighty Justin Bartlett (Gorgoroth, Cadaver, Aura Noir, Trap Them, Intronaut) and we're stoked to see the final result.
